  • Some 53 bills prefilled related to Active Duty, Veterans or dependents. Range from licensing, to tax exemptions to getting married via video conference.
  • Protection of existing benefits which might be affected by pandemic.
  • Extension of state licensing to active-duty military physicians and nurses licensed in other states to be able to practice with civilians in Texas without onerous licensing requirements.
  • Extension Expansion and funding of Texas Veterans Network.
  • Expansion and refinement of Veterans Courts with creation of regional courts serving multiple counties.
  • Multiple issues relative to County Service Officer’s in the state:
    • Uneven or no representation in some counties
    • Funding for CSO's
    • Relationship with Texas Veteran's Commission
    • Training and certification of CSO's
  • Legislation to refine property tax exemptions for surviving spouses.
  • Legislation to expand mental health services by redirecting existing funding sources.
